Incidence, predictors and impact of vascular complications after transfemoral transcatheter aortic valve implantation with the SAPIEN 3 prosthesis
The American Journal of Cardiology Feb 21, 2018
van Kesteren F, et al. - A single-center retrospective analysis was performed to delineate incidence, predictors, and impact of vascular complications (VC) after transfemoral transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) with the balloon-expandable SAPIEN 3. Vascular complications were acknowledged as an issue of transfemoral TAVI with the SAPIEN 3 and their prediction continued to be difficult. Association of major vascular complications with higher 30-day mortality was apparent despite their low incidence. However, no impact of these on survival was noted beyond the first 30-days.
