Incidence of hyperoxia and related in-hospital mortality in critically ill patients: A retrospective data analysis
Acta Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica Dec 10, 2017
Kraft F, et al. - The incidence and duration of hyperoxia burden and associated in-hospital mortality were investigated in critically ill patients. Findings reported a substantial hyperoxia burden in intensive care unit patients. Data also demonstrated that hyperoxic episodes were more often exhibited by young patients with less comorbidities, especially with lower FiO2. Researchers observed that hyperoxia during 7 days of mechanical ventilation did not correlate to increased in-hospital mortality.
