International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases Jan 30, 2021

Mahmood SB, Ji Y, Peng Y, et al. - This study was sought to evaluate the relationship by reviewing the incidence of giant cell arteritis (GCA) after bisphosphonate administration. Researchers conducted a retrospective study using the medical claims data of elderly patients in the 20% Medicare random sample between 2008 and 2014 who had received zoledronate or ibandronate. After bisphosphonate injection, the incidence of GCA was not elevated compared to the generally reported incidence in the USA.
