el Hayderi L, et al. - Researchers prospectively studied the incidence of and risk factors for postherpes zoster (HZ) scarring. There was a probability that the scarring following HZ was overlooked. Severe HZ and immunosuppression were the principal risk factors. Therefore, the incidence of post-HZ scarring could be reduced with the help of prompt instigation of antiviral treatment for HZ and HZ vaccination. Trunk, followed by the cervical region and the face were the most frequent location.
