Incidence and risk factors of chronic pain following hysterectomy among Southern Jiangsu Chinese Women

Han C, et al. – This research was designed to prospectively examine the incidence and the potential risk factors of chronic post–surgical pain (CPSP) at 3 months following hysterectomy in the Chinese population. In southern Jiangsu China, 28% of patients after hysterectomy had CPSP with 92% of those women describing it as mild with sleep and emotion functional limitation. The clinicians identified patients, with preoperative anxiety and depression, poor sexual satisfaction, preexisting pain, and acute postoperative pain on the movement, to be at risk to develop CPSP.
