Incidence and risk factors associated with the development of pressure ulcers in an Intensive Care Unit

González-Méndez MI, et al. - This paper sought to report the incidence, incidence rate and risk factors of pressure ulcers (PUs) in critical care patients. In contrast to recent studies, findings here revealed a lower incidence of PU. Risk factors associated with PUs included complications on the Unit and the prognosis-score. However, length of immobilization interestingly appeared a protective factor.
