Impulsivity as a risk factor for weight gain and body roundness change among college freshmen

Bjorlie K, et al. - This study was sought to evaluate decisional (delay-discounting; DD) and emotion-driven impulsivity (urgency) as risk factors for weight and body roundness change during freshman year. Researchers included Freshmen who completed questionnaires to evaluate DD, positive urgency, and negative urgency. They obtained weight and body roundness index at the beginning and end of the academic year. It was reported that during freshman year, emotion-driven impulsivity may be a risk factor for weight gain or change in body roundness.
