Improving lymph node characterization in staging malignant lymphoma using first-order ADC texture analysis from whole-body diffusion-weighted MRI
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Apr 21, 2018
De Paepe KN, et al. - Using whole-body diffusion-weighted MRI (WB-DWI), authors inspected the first-order apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) texture parameters compared to mean ADC for lymph node characterization in non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). A notable variation was determined in the ADCmean, ADCskew and ADCkurt between benign and malignant nodes Compared to ADCmean, first-order ADC texture analysis with WB-DWI improved lymph node characterization. Findings unveiled that ADCskew served as the most accurate and robust discriminatory parameter over all lymph node volumes and nodal body regions.
