Improvement of impulse control disorders associated with levodopa–carbidopa intestinal gel treatment in advanced Parkinson's disease

Catalan MJ, et al. - This study entailed an investigation of the effectiveness of levodopa–carbidopa intestinal gel (LCIG) therapy on impulse control disorders (ICDs) in patients with advanced Parkinson's disease (PD). Findings illustrated progressive and notable improvements in ICDs symptoms due to treatment with LCIG infusion over the study period. Additionally, a marked reduction was achieved in the psychotic and other neuropsychiatric symptoms along with an improvement in the patients’ sleep quality and psychosocial function.
