Improved visualization of the coronary arteries using motion correction during vasodilator stress CT myocardial perfusion imaging
European Journal of Radiology Mar 08, 2019
Balaney B, et al. - In this investigation, researchers ascertained if visualization of the coronary arteries could be improved with a novel motion correction algorithm applied to stress images to potentially allow coronary CT angiography (CCTA) + stress computed tomography perfusion (sCTP) evaluation in a single scan. For this analysis, 28 subjects referred for clinically indicated CCTA had sCTP imaging after regadenoson. Without degrading the image, motion-compensated back-projection reconstructions improves the visualization of coronary anatomy on sCTP images. This algorithm is an important step towards the combined evaluation of coronary anatomy and myocardial perfusion in a single scan that will reduce study time, exposure to radiation and contrast dose.
