Importance of geriatric nutritional risk index assessment in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement
American Heart Journal May 21, 2018
Shibata K, et al. - Using data from a Japanese multicenter registry, researchers evaluated the clinical outcomes of geriatric nutritional risk index (GNRI) following transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). For this investigation, the GNRI value of 1,613 who underwent TAVR was assessed. The data indicated that GNRI relates to both frailty components and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) score and was an important proxy marker for forecasting worse clinical outcomes after TAVR. They suggested that GNRI assessment could be considered when deciding on TAVR.
