Implant stability and bone characteristics in free fibula flaps used for jaw reconstruction: A prospective cohort study
The International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants Sep 15, 2017
Kumar VV, et al. - This study was designed not only to assess primary and secondary implant stability values of implants placed into healed free fibulaÂreconstructed mandibles but also to examine whether a correlation existed between primary implant stability and the quantity of cortical boneÂimplant contact and of cortical fibular bone in contact with the implants. No differences were observed in primary and secondary implant stability quotients (ISQ) values of implants placed into the fibula. Findings revealed that implant stability quotients associated positively with cortical bone-to-implant contact (CBIC).
