Impaired fasting glucose is associated with unfavorable outcome in ischemic stroke patients treated with intravenous alteplase
Journal of Neurology Apr 26, 2018
Osei E, et al. - Authors assessed if impaired fasting glucose (IFG) was related to unfavorable outcomes in ischemic stroke patients treated with intravenous alteplase and if it was a stronger prognostic indicator than hyperglycemia on admission. Eligible candidates included 220 consecutive patients with ischemic stroke treated with intravenous alteplase. Findings demonstrated that IFG was linked with unfavorable outcome after treatment with intravenous alteplase for acute ischemic stroke. Furthermore, IFG forecasts unfavorable outcome better than hyperglycemia on admission.
