Impact on morbidity, mortality, and length of stay of hospital-acquired infections by resistant microorganisms
Clinical Infectious Diseases Aug 14, 2017
Barrasa–Villar JI, et al. – Authors undertake this work to assess the impact of hospital–acquired infections caused by multidrug–resistant organisms (MDROs) on morbidity, mortality, and length of hospital stay. Findings reveal that these infections increase mortality, readmissions, and in some cases, visits to the emergency department compared with those produced by susceptible strains. These infections seem not influencing LOS nor the need for hospital admission, intensive care, surgery, or diagnostic tests.
