Yoon J, et al. - The researchers sought to assess the effect of one-course treatment of topical fluorouracil on the face and ears on keratinocyte carcinoma (KC) and actinic keratosis (AK) treatment costs over three years. Compared to the intervention arm, the control arm had a higher mean number of treatment encounters for squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) one year after randomization. Patients treated with topical fluorouracil cream, 5%, demonstrated significant cost savings.
