Skoff TH, et al. - A case-control evaluation was performed to assess the effectiveness of 2012 recommendation of providing Tdap (tetanus toxoid, reduced diphtheria toxoid, and acellular pertussis) vaccine to women during each pregnancy to protect infants in the first months of life. Findings demonstrated the efficacy of vaccination during pregnancy in protecting infants during the early months of life. With a continuing resurgence in pertussis, researchers recommended efforts to focus on maximizing Tdap uptake among pregnant women.
