Impact of surgical waiting time on survival in patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma: A national cancer database study
Urologic Oncology: Seminars and Original Investigations Oct 26, 2017
Xia L, et al. - The effect of surgical waiting time (SWT) on the survival outcome was comprehensively analyzed, among patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). There did not appear to be any link between increased SWT from diagnosis to radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) with worse overall survival (OS) within 120 days after the diagnosis of UTUC. Nevertheless, SWT>120 days could exhibit a worsened survival. The data displayed prominent implications for trial design in the assessment of neoadjuvant chemotherapy for UTUC and prospective clinical practice.
