Impact of sleep disorders and other factors on the quality of life in general population: A cross-sectional study
The Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease Apr 20, 2019
Hallit S, et al. - Researchers evaluated the influence of insomnia, along with other factors, on the physical and mental quality of life (QOL) of the Lebanese general population. There were 756 community-dwelling participants enrolled in this cross-sectional study. They identified a significant correlation of having a family history of insomnia problems with higher physical QOL; lower physical QOL was observed in significant correlation with increased stress. Significant correlation of increased age with lower mental QOL was observed. Evidence suggests a detrimental impact of insomnia, along with other factors (including sociodemographic and psychological factors), on both physical and mental QOL of patients.
