Impact of radical hysterectomy vs simple hysterectomy on survival of patients with stage II endometrial cancer: A meta-analysis
Annals of Surgical Oncology Aug 08, 2019
Liu T, et al. - Researchers examined how radical hysterectomy (RH) vs simple hysterectomy (SH) influences the survival of patients with stage II endometrial cancer (EC) via a meta-analysis. Searching several databases to July 2018, they identified 10 relevant retrospective cohort studies enrolling 2,866 patients for inclusion. Results of this meta-analysis suggest no significantly improved survival when RH was performed in stage II EC. They recommend practicing caution while considering RH in clinical practice, as it remains controversial.
