Impact of preprocedural TIMI flow on clinical outcome in low-risk patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction: Results from the ATLANTIC study
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions May 13, 2019
Bauer T, et al. - In this post-hoc analysis, researchers determined how clinical outcome in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) was influenced by the preprocedural thrombolysis in myocardial infarction (TIMI) flow. They analyzed participants in the ATLANTIC study (comparing prehospital vs inhospital treatment with ticagrelor in patients with acute STEMI) that were classified as TIMI 0/1, TIMI 2, and TIMI 3, based on preprocedural TIMI flow grade of the infarct vessel. Findings revealed no independent association of preprocedural TIMI flow with a higher rate of adverse ischemic events.
