Impact of posterior urethral diameter/external urethral sphincter diameter as a new tool to predict detrusor pressure in the voiding phase
International Urology and Nephrology Dec 28, 2017
Kon M, et al. - This study entailed the investigation of the link between posterior urethra diameter (PUD)/external urethral sphincter diameter (EUSD) and detrusor pressure (Pdet) during voiding by videourodynamics (VUDS). In pediatric patients, PUD/EUSD displayed value as a tool to predict high voiding pressure. Data reported that in pediatric patients aged 3 and under with neuropathic diseases, the need to perform more invasive tests, such as VUDS, was indicated by a PUD/EUSD of ≥ 2.4 in voiding cystourethrography (VCUG).
