Luca DL, et al. - The population-level impact of pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) on pneumonia hospitalizations and related costs were assessed. Researchers observed substantial reductions in pneumonia hospitalizations and related healthcare costs in relation to the publicly funded PCV immunization program. This was evident among both young children eligible for publicly funded vaccination and other age groups not included in the publicly funded program.
