Impact of overweight on left ventricular function in type 2 diabetes mellitus
Cardiovascular Diabetology Nov 15, 2017
Suto M, et al. - This study was implemented to shed light on the effect of overweight on left ventricular (LV) longitudinal myocardial systolic function in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. Findings demonstrated that in T2DM patients vs in non-diabetes mellitus healthy subjects, a greater impact of overweight on LV longitudinal myocardial systolic function was observed. Additionally, data indicated that the strict control of overweight in T2DM patients may be related to the prevention of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) development.
