Impact of operative time on adverse events following primary total joint arthroplasty

Bohl DD, et al. - In this trial, the relationships between a 15-minute increase in operative time and the occurrence of adverse events after primary total joint arthroplasty (TJA) were evaluated. The risk for multiple postoperative complications after TJA was increased by the greater operative time. Surgeons ought to consider steps for reducing operative time without compromising the technical components of the surgical procedure.
