Impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on short-term complications and survival following radical cystectomy
World Journal of Urology Dec 10, 2018
Milenkovic U, et al. - Authors compared the perioperative and short-term postoperative complication rates between patients receiving radical cystectomy (RC) following neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) and patients undergoing RC alone. They also compared the overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS). They retrospectively collected the clinico-pathological data of all patients who received RC between 1996 and 2015. Results demonstrated no correlation of exposure to NAC. Findings did not suggest an association of exposure to NAC with increased short-term complications in appropriately selected patients.
