Critical Care Medicine Aug 24, 2017
Riha HM, et al. – This study investigated the effect of moderate hyperchloremia (chloride ≥ 115 mmol/L) on clinical outcomes in intracerebral hemorrhage patients treated with continuous IV infusion 3% hypertonic saline. Findings demonstrated that development of moderate hyperchloremia during treatment with continuous IV infusion 3% hypertonic saline was associated with higher rates of in–hospital mortality, with moderate hyperchloremia independently predicting in–hospital mortality.
