Impact of hypertonic saline on hospitalization rate in infants with acute bronchiolitis: A meta-analysis
Pediatric Pulmonology Jun 20, 2018
Zhang L, et al. - The efficacy of nebulized hypertonic saline (HS) on the rate of hospitalization in infants with acute bronchiolitis in the Emergency Department (ED) setting was evaluated. From inception until January 31, 2018, PubMed, Virtual Health Library-BVS and Cochrane CENTRAL were searched. An aggregate of 293 records was screened and 8 trials comprising 1708 subjects were involved. The results of this meta-analysis suggested that nebulized hypertonic saline could potentially lessen the risk of hospitalization in infants with acute bronchiolitis in the ED setting.
