Impact of hyperlipidemia as a coexisting factor on the prognosis of idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss: A propensity score matching analysis
Clinical Otolaryngology Nov 15, 2019
Chen C, Wang M, Wang H, et al. - Researchers used a propensity score matching analysis to explore the connection between the lipid-lowering therapy treatment and the prognosis in idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss with hyperlipidemia patients. Between January 2014 to August 2018, a total of 653 in-patient sudden sensorineural hearing loss patients were recruited. In combination with hyperlipidemia, lipid-lowering therapy can improve the curative effect of sudden hearing loss patients. A significant difference was found in the total effective rate of TG Group after lipid intervention, indicating that there could be a causal link between TG and sudden hearing loss. A significant difference was noted in the total effective rate between flat audiogram, which can indicate flat hearing loss was more likely caused by vascular dysfunction.
