Danae A Delivanis, et al. - Effect of hypercortisolism on skeletal muscle mass and adipose tissue mass was examined in patients with adrenal adenomas. The researchers found an association of severity of hypercortisolism with reduced muscle mass and increased visceral adiposity. In patients with adrenal adenomas, these computed tomography-based markers could allow for a more reliable and objective assessment of glucocorticoid-related disease severity.
