Impact of enhanced recovery after surgery protocols on postoperative morbidity and mortality in patients undergoing routine hepatectomy: Review of the current evidence

Damania R, et al. – This research investigated the effect of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols on postoperative morbidity and mortality in patients undergoing routine hepatectomy. The application of this program to patients undergoing hepatectomy reduced the length of hospital stay. It did not exert any effect on the perioperative morbidity or mortality. Hence, it could serve as a new standard of care for patients undergoing routine liver resection.
