Sun Z, et al. - The effect of glucose metabolism status on functional outcomes and complications following open arthrolysis for post-traumatic elbow stiffness was determined in this study. Increased risk of poorer outcomes after open arthrolysis was noted in the patients with post-traumatic elbow stiffness and abnormal glucose metabolism. Poorest performance was demonstrated by patients with diabetes mellitus. Findings highlighted the significance of glycemic control before open arthrolysis among patients with abnormal glucose metabolism.
