Mashaly A, et al. - The impact of diabetes mellitus (DM) on long-term outcomes in patients with chronic total occlusion (CTO) lesions was determined. Diabetic patients with CTO exhibited a trend toward a higher incidence of revascularization and total major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) up to 5 years. Additionally, a significantly higher incidence of total MACE was reported in insulin-dependent and diabetic patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) subgroups.
