Amiche MA, et al. - Researchers, herein examined the fracture risk related to short courses and heavy use of high-dose oral glucocorticoids. A most substantial increase in hip fracture risk was noted in the patients receiving a high daily dose (DD) (≥ 15 mg), heavy users (≥ 1 g cumulative dose (CD). A threshold of 1 g CD could identify heavy users that were candidates for focused fracture management services among those receiving high DD.
