Impact of coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic on Parkinson disease: A cross‐sectional survey of 568 Spanish patients
Movement Disorders Sep 25, 2020
Santos‐García D, Oreiro M, Pérez P, et al. - In this descriptive, observational, cross‐sectional study, the impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic on Spanish patients with Parkinson disease (PD) was determined. Researchers distributed an anonymous online survey with 95 questions among patients and obtained 568 (99.6%) valid responses for inclusion in the analysis (mean age, 63.5 ± 12.5 years; 53% females). Findings suggest that the COVID‐19 pandemic was perceived with concern and responsibility by Spanish patients with PD. Worsening of the symptoms occurred in more than half during confinement.
