Impact of comorbidities on functional recovery from partial nephrectomy
The Journal of Urology Dec 15, 2017
Isharwal S, et al. - The proposition explored herein was that relevant comorbidities could exert an impact on the nephron stability and functional recovery after partial nephrectomy (PN). Recovery of function after PN was mainly based on the parenchymal mass preservation and ischemia characteristics. However, comorbidities failed to associate with functional outcomes. It was deduced that the comorbidities could affect the function leading to surgery. It could also impact the long-term functional stability. The results, however, indicated that they did not influence short-term recovery after PN.
