Pereira JM, et al. - A post hoc analysis was performed to assess the effect of different aspects of antibiotic therapy (AT) on the outcome of critically ill patients with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). For attaining improved short and long term outcome of severe CAP patients, combination AT with a macrolide may be the most suitable AT strategy. Notably, AT >7 days had no survival benefit and was associated with a longer (LOS).
