Impact of anemia on in-hospital complications after ischemic stroke
European Journal of Neurology Feb 21, 2018
Wei CC, et al. - This trial was initiated in order to gauge the upshot of anemia on a series of in-hospital complications after ischemic stroke. When compared to patients without anemia, those with anemia exhibited a greater likelihood of experiencing one or more complications, pneumonia, gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) and thromboembolism. Hence, it was deduced that following a stroke, anemia served as an independent predictor of in-hospital complications, particularly for pneumonia, GIB and thromboembolism.
