Impact of anatomic origin of primary squamous cell carcinomas of the nasal cavity and ethmoidal sinus on clinical outcome
European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology Jul 24, 2018
Janik S, et al. - Researchers assessed if anatomic subsites of squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) of the nasal cavity and ethmoid sinuses impact clinical outcome. Study participants were patients with primary SCCs of the nasal cavity and ethmoid sinuses. Findings suggested clinical outcome was significantly impacted by anatomic origin of nasal SCC. They noted an association of SCCs of the nasal septum with higher rates of positive neck nodes and worse outcome. A correlation of elective neck dissection with lower, but not significantly different, regional and distant disease-free survival was seen.
