Impact of age on outcomes of patients with non–muscle-invasive bladder cancer treated with immediate postoperative instillation of mitomycin C
Urologic Oncology: Seminars and Original Investigations Dec 10, 2017
Xylinas E, et al. - Researchers ascertained if age exerted an impact on the clinical benefit afforded by immediate postoperative intravesical instillation of mitomycin C in patients with non–muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). The findings affirmed reduced disease recurrence rates associated with 1 immediate postoperative intravesical instillation of mitomycin C in NMIBC patients. The preservation of benefit on recurrence-free survival of a postoperative intravesical instillation was disclosed across all ages. Hence, age by itself was not recommended for consideration when deciding to use it.
