Impact of acute exacerbations on platelet reactivity in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients
International Journal of COPD Jan 13, 2018
Muñoz-Esquerre M, et al. - Changes in platelet reactivity were studied during an exacerbation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients with and without antiplatelet therapy. Also, its association with systemic inflammatory parameters was also assessed. During acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, an increased platelet reactivity was observed, possibly contributing to the augmented cardiovascular risk of these patients. Furthermore, data suggested that the increase in platelet reactivity might be associated with an increment in inflammatory markers during exacerbations.
