Immunoproteasome in the children with acute appendicitis, and its correlation with proteasome and UCHL1 measured by SPR imaging biosensors
Clinical and Experimental Immunology Sep 28, 2017
Matuszczak E, et al. - This study assessed blood plasma concentration of immunoproteasome and its correlation with circulating proteasome and UCHL1 in a pediatric population with appendicitis. Findings suggested that immunoproteasome concentration possibly assists the evaluation of treatment efficacy as it may reflect the metabolic response to acute state inflammation and the process of gradual ebbing of the inflammation. In this patient population, no impact was seen, of the surgical method (classic open appendectomy or laparoscopic appendectomy) on the general trend in immunoproteasome concentration.
