Immunohistochemical validation of PSMA expression measured by 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT in primary prostate cancer
The Journal of Nuclear Medicine Feb 06, 2018
Woythal N, et al. - The association of intraprostatic 68Ga-labeled prostate-specific membrane antigen (68Ga-PSMA) PET/CT findings and PSMA expression was evaluated by the authors in the immunohistochemical staining. In addition, they aimed to generate a cutoff value for differentiation between normal prostate (PN) and prostate cancer (PCA). A significant association was noted between SUVmax on 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT and PSMA expression in primary PCA. This, in turn, enabled the detection of PCA with a high sensitivity and specificity.
