Immune responses vary in preinvasive colorectal lesions by tumor location and histology
Cancer Prevention Research Aug 05, 2021
Wallace K, El Nahhas GJ, Bookhout C, et al. - Heterogeneous immune responses were seen in preinvasive colorectal lesions.
Preinvasive lesions were obtained from the surgical pathology laboratory.
Immune infiltrate abundance was evident in proximal colon lesions, paralleling the responses noted in normal mucosa and invasive disease.
Increasing villous histology was associated with diminishing immune response.
There were no differences in lesions with low- and high-grade dysplasia, except in mast cells.
