IgM antibodies against phosphorylcholine promote polarization of T regulatory cells from patients with atherosclerotic plaques, systemic lupus erythematosus and healthy donors
Atherosclerosis Nov 22, 2017
Sun J, et al. - Researchers, in this work, sought to assess the effects of IgM antibodies against phosphorylcholine (anti-PC) immune regulation. They observe that by promoting a Treg type of response, IgM anti-PC might modulate pro-inflammatory T cell-activation. Through that mechanism, IgM anti-PC could display atheroprotective properties. Pro-inflammatory states could be restricted and atherosclerosis development inhibited in healthy individuals and patients with SLE.
