Identification of low-abundance urinary biomarkers in Lupus nephritis using electrochemiluminescence immunoassays
Arthritis & Rheumatology Jan 11, 2019
Stanley S, et al. - Researchers assessed 48 human urine samples to classify low abundance urinary protein biomarkers in Lupus nephritis (LN) and also to examine the efficacy of a more sensitive factor using electrochemiluminescence (ECL). They observed the elevation of 17 urinary proteins in active LN samples in comparison to inactive LN. Urinary IL-7, IL-12p40, IL-15, IP-10, and TARC were notified increased significantly in active LN, hence considered as potentially useful diagnostic tools for LN as compared to other CKD controls. ECL assays were concluded better for detection of urinary biomarkers that were below ELISA detection limits.
