Ideal cardiovascular health metrics and its association with 20-year cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in a Chinese population
Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health Apr 22, 2018
Zhou L, et al. - Experts evaluated the relationship between ideal cardiovascular health (CVH) metrics, as defined by the American Heart Association, and cardiovascular risk in a Chinese population. They conducted the baseline survey among Chinese men and women from four urban and rural population samples in China, aged 35–59 years in 1983–1984, with a follow up to 2005 on an array of cardiovascular endpoints. Results suggested that in this Chinese general population, the number of ideal CVH metrics was inversely related to the risk of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality.
