Radiotherapy & Oncology | Aug 28, 2017
Zaorsky NG, et al. – Characterization was conducted of the cosmetic outcomes and local recurrence (LR) rates of several hypofractionated radiation therapy (RT) regimens for skin basal and squamous cell cancers (BCCs/SCCs). A favorable cosmesis was reported of the hypofractionated in the study cohort. Such commonly–used regimens ought to be taken into account by the clinicians, presenting with biologically equivalent doses with α/β = 3 (BED3) of ∼100 Gy: 50 Gy/15 fractions, 36.75 Gy/7 fractions, or 35 Gy/5 fractions, due to Âgood cosmesis in 80% of patients.
