Hypertension after kidney donation: Incidence, predictors, and correlates
American Journal of Transplantation Apr 20, 2018
Sanchez OA, et al. - This study examined the incidence of postdonation hypertension, risk factors related to its development, and impact of the type of treatment received on renal outcomes in 3,700 kidney donors. It was noted that the use of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers exhibited a connection with a lower risk for eGFR <45 mL/min/1.73m2, HR 0.64 and also less ESRD; HR 0.03. Data reported that hypertension was common after donation, well controlled in most donors in this predominantly Caucasian cohort and factors linked with its development were similar to those in the general cohort.
