Hyperglycemia is associated with increased bone mineral density and decreased trabecular bone score in elderly Japanese men: The Fujiwara-kyo osteoporosis risk in men (FORMEN) study

Iki M, et al. – This study was designed to shed light on the link between glycemic and insulin resistance status and bone microarchitecture and to explore the potential role of pentosidine and bone turnover markers in the association. Findings showed an association of hyperglycemia and elevated insulin–resistance with low trabecular bone score (TBS), independent of bone turnover and pentosidine levels.
