Human papillomavirus vaccine completion and associated factors among 13-17 year-old Hispanic and non-Hispanic White females
Annals of Epidemiology Aug 31, 2018
Xu Y, et al. - Since the estimated human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine completion rates (≥3 doses) for 13-17 year-old females is only 43.0%--substantially lower than the Healthy People 2020 target of 80% for 13-14 year-old females, researchers assessed the factors related to completion of the HPV vaccine series among 13-17 year-old Hispanic/Latino and non-Hispanic/Latino White girls who received one dose of HPV vaccine. Not having a doctor’s visit in the past 12 months, living in a rental home, and geographic mobility were the factors that were found to be related to completion among Hispanic/Latino girls, whereas not having a doctor’s visit in the past 12 months, first dose age, and living in a rental home were the factors associated with the completion of the HPV vaccine series among Hispanic/Latino White girls, after adjusting for potential confounders.
